3. Creative Tip of the month:

There is a deep place within us, where our true spirit resides. Within these deep places, each of us holds an incredible reserve of creativity, power, energy and feeling.

I like to read the following blessing before meditation to assist me in going deeper. As we near the winter solstice and longest night of the year on December 21, I hope you will take some time to be still and listen deeply within to discover the message of your spirit. You might want to ask your heart what it really, really, really wants or just be with your peaceful inner Self.

From one of my favorite old Gaelic blessings: (Before meditation you can read it without the to you).

Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the running waves to you.
Deep peace of the light of the world to you.

4. Alive! with Color

Color is a vital, dynamic force which powerfully effects us and our lives. Imagine yourself in a world without color! Color has been used by indigenous peoples for centuries for healing, ceremonies and rituals. As a vibration of light, or radiant energy, it has profound effects on us physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Color can help us to move into balance.

THE COLOR of the WINTER SOLSTICE--WHITE

Each of the seasons resonates to its own special color. The color of the Winter Solstice, the birth color, is a luminous white. The highest ecstatic impulses always find expression in white. White light represents divine purity, the heavenly hosts singing of the coming of the light and the birth of the holy child/son/sun.

Experiment with white this season--in fabric, clothes, your surroundings, lights, candles, foods. Notice how you feel, think and act in relationship to winter white.

Private Silk Home Showings Stir More Creative Ideas--Thanks to the hostesses and guests who attended the five showings of Carol Lorraine Designs' Spirit Creations in Northern California in November. The shows were a creative collaboration and inspired new ideas for designs and combinations. Judith Dempsey Malear, wedding officiate, envisioned one of the original blouses with a sarong/skirt to wear for New Year's Eve. I hadn't thought to put the two together. They are smashing! Sue Wilhite, minister, envisioned the Tree of Life design that I had painted on a prayer flag on the back of her cape to wear during her spiritual work. That too is awesome!

If you would like to host or attend a show wherever you may live, please let me know. You will receive a gift of silk in return. I am planning my Spring 2002 schedule now and will be traveling to many new places.
