Aloha and welcome once again! Thank you for passing this newsletter along to

If you didn't receive the May copy of the newsletter, please send an email with May Newsletter in the subject line and I will send it. Or you can find the newsletters for 2001 on my website. It seems a pesky (not damaging) virus attached itself to the May newsletter and some of you didn't receive it. I apologize and hope that your virus protectors caught it so that it didn't cause you any inconvenience. My web host assures me he has put software into place that will catch any such virus in the future.

Well, guess what? It is raining in Hawaii! (tis our rainy season now) You on the mainland are just warming up with sunshine and we are getting blessed with much needed rains to make our tropical plants lush and green. Rain or water, is representative of emotions and feelings, intuition and instincts, the primal female element, yin. Yin is about receptivity, darkness, coolness, as opposed to fire, which is light, hot and yang. Water is the element of reflection and the subconscious mind. Water is silent unless it is being moved and it is invisible unless it is reflecting something. Water helps to balance and stabilize. Without it fires would burn out of control. Water has an incredible power to dissolve and also to bond. See the creative tip #1 regarding how to create in the spirit of water.

MEMORIES

Memories are like
graves of dust
Never
leaving.
Covered with the
passage of time
The dust
thickens.
Words, pictures, faces
dusty shadows
Pass away- killed by the
axe of time.
The grave at first
empty, fills
As the stuff of life
occupies corners
In the storehouse of
our minds -
Closets of joy and pain,
tears and hope
Trust and faith
and love.
We open each closet
harboring a dream
Snatched away by fears-
it is empty.
Fears not dealt with-perhaps
not understood .
We run from the fullness
of life .
Will the memories
fade?
Will we go on, stop
running?
Running from the
faceless fears
Of old
brain?
Perhaps we dust off the one
memory
That helped us
most.
The very mirror of ourselves -
imaging
Our fears we had
helped.

Alas we cannot run from our memories,

Face them we must lest
they return

3. Creative Tips of the month
TIP # 1
Our theme this month is about the power of water to solve. Sometimes we find solutions by using our intellect, our rational, logical mind and sometimes we find solutions by following our conscience, our intuition and what is true for us. And sometimes we use both. This can be helpful in times of transition, when we have outgrown old ways and the new aren't clear yet. Sound familiar?

The power of water uses feminine, or yin qualities. You hear this often called going with the flow. First it's important to become receptive rather than pushing or trying to make it happen. There are many times that we are receptive. It usually happens when we aren't thinking, like when driving, showering, or playing with the cat. Another way is by getting quiet and still and allowing ourselves to listen and receive messages with the inner ear.

You can ask yourself questions like the ones below and listen. Or you can ask the question and then write in a stream of conscious style and see what comes through. Or if you like to use guidance tools like tarot cards, you can ask a question and then pick a card and see how the images relate to the question. Or you can keep a journal of your internal messages or urges that may come as an inkling, a feeling, a vision or image, or something you hear.

So here are some powerful questions to ask yourself:

What is opening up for me right now?
What do I REALLY REALLY REALLY want, no kidding?
What is true for me now?
What is the greater learning here?
What am I feeling?
What am I resisting?

It is important when living and creating in this yin way that we don't give in to external pressures or conform, but follow our own song. By following our conscience we attune to a higher knowing, the truth of our being. When we act from that knowing, all is well in our world. This is living our vision; living our lives on purpose.

TIP # 2
To paraphrase Helen Gurley Brown's quote about creative women,
Don't expect anyone to be happy for your success or big dreams. If you have a loved one and a friend or two who are happy for you, consider yourself lucky.

Other people can stop your project or idea before you even act on it. So, (using your intuition and logic), carefully select who you invite to be on your creative team. Yes, still be friends with lots of people. AND, when it comes to working creatively, choose like minds and train them to be honest, yet unconditionally constructive.
